client: Alaska Run for Women
project: event design
I am honored to once again have the privilege of designing for the Alaska Run for Women.
The 2014 design celebrates those at the center of this event, the survivors. In an appreciative nod to the works of Alphonse Mucha, Gustav Klimt, and Aubrey Beardsley -- and how they so gracefully portrayed women -- I borrowed themes and fonts from their movement. My goal is an elegant, feminine tribute to the natural beauty and strength of all women who face the trials of breast cancer.
This design is dedicated to those women and to my niece Katrina, a thirty-seven year old mother of two diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013.
